LUCID Music Festival

Brand Identity · Illustration

CONTEXT
LUCID, a three-day festival celebrating the past and future age of music.
LUCID brings together a mix of indie, alt, pop, and rock music in a giant sing-your-heart-out celebration. Classic and current hits are brought together, commemorating music's past and future journey. The name "LUCID" harkens back to the dreamlike and almost otherworldly quality of music. After all, isn't it just a bunch of sounds strung together? And yet, it can make us feel so much.

OBJECTIVE
To create a cohesive and eye-catching music festival brand identity.
The branding should capture the ambitiousness of the festival and how it will celebrate the past and future age of music. All together, the brand system should attract music lovers in the 21-40 age range and garner large-scale attention to power this event.
STYLE
I combined the visuals of stained glass with the vaporwave aesthetic, balancing classic art with urban modernity.
ART + LAYOUT EXPLORATION
Playing around with different versions,
I decided on one without lines. It made the art more lightweight and ethereal.

POSTERS
I created four 24x36" posters, one overall and one for each day of the festival.
The overall poster is an overview of a cityscape. Each "day" poster brings you closer from the bridge to the highway to downtown. This movement represents how our music is constantly moving forward and evolving over time.
TICKETS + PASSES
There are three tiers of tickets: 1-day GA, 3-day GA, and VIP.
MERCHANDISE
The long-sleeve shirt is vibrant and eye-catching for anyone to wear.
BEER CANS
Inviting a local brewing company, three craft beers were created and will be sold at the festival.
These pale ales come in three exciting fruit blend flavors. Their names draw from ideals for the future. Passion is straightforward, the fuel behind meaningful actions. Illusion represents the ability
to dream a new reality and fantasy while vision is being able to execute and plan the future.
TAKEAWAYS
Each deliverable should be meaningful and contribute to the experience.
In designing for such a huge event as a music festival that would expect thousands of visitors, it was important that each deliverable added to the experience. Being at the festival shouldn't feel like every other day. This project made me more acutely aware of this. Even something as trivial as a ticket for the event was equally important in crafting an atmosphere.
